1 Perfect Hatred Psalm 11:5; 139:21-22 1 John 4:8; Luke 6:27-28; 14:26

2 God Loves the World but Hates Sin God’s love prompted the gift of His Son (John 3:16) But love does not rejoice in iniquity (1 Cor. 13:6) God’s love and holiness result in His hatred for sin (Proverbs 6:16; 3:32; 11:20; Habakkuk 1:13) Christ Himself is said to have hated lawlessness (Hebrews 1:9)

3 Our Attitude Toward Sin is to be Like God’s Attitude To love God is to hate evil (Psalm 97:10) To know His will is to hate every false way (Psalm 119:104) To fear Him is to hate evil (Prov. 8:13; Acts 10:35) To experience His presence we must hate evil and love good (Amos 5:14-15) This attitude is commanded of Christians (Romans 12:9; 1 Peter 1:15-16)

4 Perfect Hatred is to hate anything and everything that is SIN It is a true commitment to “love not the world” (1 John 2:15-17; 1 Timothy 2:9-10; Galatians 5:19- 21; Ephesians 5:3-5; 1 Peter 4:1-5) It is refusing to have fellowship with error or evil (Psalm 26:1-5; Ephesians 5:7-11; 2 Cor. 6:14-18) It is a genuine aversion to error (Psalm 101:3; Galatians 2:4-5; 2 John 9-11; Romans 16:17-18)
