Psalm 8 O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?

Psalm 8 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 all sheep and oxen - even the beasts of the field, 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

4. DAVID EXALTS THE LORD (1 - 2)  God’s “glory” is “ABOVE (over) the heavens”!  God uses the weakest & most vulnerable of His creation to silence His enemies!  Matthew 21:12-16

6. GRANDEUR OF CREATION & MAN’S GLORY (3-8) Why did God place such trust in man by giving him “dominion”?  To save the planet?  Eden: to test his faithfulness. Man controls many things, but not his death ( Heb 2:6-9, 14-15; 1 Cor 15:54- 57; 1 Thess 4:14-18; Jn 5:28-29 )

7. THE EXCELLENT NAME OF GOD (9) “O LORD ( Jehovah ), our Lord ( 'adown aw-done' ), How excellent is Your name in all the earth”  David knew one Lord ( Deut 6:4 )  We know Him as Jesus ( Eph 4:5; Acts 2:36; 4:12; Phil 2:9-11 )

8. Our Lord Jesus declared His Father ( Jn 1:18 ) Jesus did His Father’s will ( Jn 4:34; 6:38 ) Jesus pleased His Father ( Jn 8:29 ) If we know the Excellent Name of “Jesus” We will do as He has done!
