WIVES, Love your husbands!

Wives must learn to love their husbands (Titus 2:4).
Just because a woman says “I do” does not mean she knows how to love her husband all of her days. “train” – “schooled” in the proper way to love. All wives need to devote themselves to learning how to love their own husbands.

Give your own husband your constant affection.
All Christians are commanded to love [agapao] (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). Godly actions doing what is best for the other person. The commandment to wives to love in Titus 2:4 is different from the command- ment to husbands to love in Ephesians 5:25. philandros – fond of man; fondness and affection for the husband; lover of husband.

Where do you direct your affections, wives? 2 Timothy 3:1-4 Love will not flourish unless it is tenderly and diligently nourished. A fire dies when it is not stoked and fueled.

Give your own husband your constant affection.
Your husband needs your continual affection for him and fondness of him. Love him every day, in every mood … Affectionately support him in his endeavors… Give him due physical affection/good will (1 Corinthians 7:3, 5). Affectionate devotion! Proverbs 21:9, 19; 12:4; 31:10-12

Be a guardian of the home you are building together (Titus 2:5).
A shelter from storms, a haven from trouble, a fortress from attacks. Learn to be homemakers, workers at home, keepers of the home [oikourgous]. Look after domestic affairs with prudence and care (1 Timothy 5:14). Construct your home with tender loving care – where your husband receives love. Proverbs 14:1 Create a pleasant environment; and be pleasant – a welcoming embrace.
