1. The Adventures of Flat Stanley in Perú

2. My adventure began when I was unceremoniously thrown on cousin Alan’s doorstep. They must have been expecting me because there was a big sign that said “BIENVENIDO”. That means “Welcome” in Spanish.

3. I met cousin Kory and his Physical Therapist Jorge. He’s the guy you can’t see behind Kory.

4. I met Kory’s mom Maria Elena too. Kory was working really hard at his physical therapy.

5. Later in the day I went to the Phonoaudiologist with cousin Kory. Boy does he have some big tonsils!

6. I met Kory’s grandfather too. I told him I felt a little uncomfortable because everything in Peru was so big. To make me feel more at home he took me to Lima’s Miniworld where everything was my size, and I was the big man on campus.

7. I saw all kinds of famous sights like the Presidential Palace.

8. They treated me like a real king, and even gave me my own castle to live in.

9. Here we are in front of Our Lady of Guadalupe High school.

10. Then I fell into this big cactus. Boy that really hurt!

11. I saw so many sights I can’t remember them all.

12. I took a break for a while on the step’s of the San Martín monument.

13. Then we stopped at the Peruvian Congress

14. And after that the National Stadium.

15. Then we found a big slide, and I slid down it.

16. Finally we had to go home because it was dark.

17. The next day I helped cousin Alan work on his house.

18. I wanted to help out so I grabbed his welder and tried to give him a hand.

19. He told me to just stand back, because the sparks were really flying, and I was only made of paper. He was nice enough however to let me use some of my own tools like this Stanley wrench.

20. The next day Kory and Maria Elena took me to the pool. They had a special suit for me so I wouldn’t get wet. It was called a Ziploc bag.

21. When they saw me in the water all the lifeguards started blowing their whistles. I guess your not supposed to have plastic bags in the pool. Oops!

22. The next day we went to the beach with Kory’s cousin Camila.

23. We went kayaking. I almost got washed overboard because a big wave came crashing over me and Kory. He really loved that!

24. Later Kory got really relaxed and almost fell asleep.

25. The day after that we went horseback riding on the beach.

26. But that was at a different beach where the waves are really big.

27. After we finished riding, we fed the horse some carrots.

28. That still wasn’t adventurous enough for me, so the day after that I went parasailing!

29. After so much sightseeing and adventuring I needed a rest, so I just hung out for a day with my buddy Buzz Light-year.

30. There’s not too much more I can add to all that! As you can see from the pictures, it was a terrific trip, and the Smith family sure were great hosts. That Kory is a really cool kid too!
