2 Columbus Day This holiday is celebrated for Christopher Columbus. It is celebrated on second Monday in October. He discovered America. And prove the world was round. Celebrated closings, parades, and learn about in school. We also have sales.

3 Thanksgiving Celebrated on fourth Thursday in November. Pilgrims and Indians celebrated it on the first Thanksgiving. We give thanks, have a big feast, and all schools close

4 Martin Luther King Jr. It is celebrated for Martin Luther King Jr. It is celebrated on the third Monday in January He gave the “ I have a dream ” speech Some schools close. All government offices close

5 President ’ s Day This holiday is celebrated on the third Monday in February. It is celebrated for the presidents especially President Washington and Lincoln Some banks, government offices, and schools close for this day.

6 Memorial Day Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday in May It is celebrated for all fallen veterans and loved ones We celebrate it by having cookouts, closing of offices and some schools

7 Independence Day This holiday is celebrated on the 4 th of July It is celebrated to honor America ’ s birthday and the signing of the Declaration of Independence We celebrate by having cookouts and having firework shows.
