Differences between chronological and functional résumés. 5. How to prepare a reference list. 6. Where to find additional information.

Resume Do’s Tips for getting your resume noticed: Use high-quality paper Consistent with dates, numbers, spacing, abbreviations, etc. Check and re-check for errors Someone else critique your résumé

Resume Don’ts Ways to NOT get noticed: Underestimate this as your first impression Write lengthy prose Use multiple fonts, typographic symbols, or visual elements

Resume Don’ts Do NOT do the following: Use personal pronouns (I, we, my) Include a photograph Mention personal data Give information that could potentially screen you “out” of the job

Step 4 - Experience Accomplishment statements Emphasize major responsibilities, accomplishments and results Quantify when possible Start with action verbs (use past tense if not current job)
