Easter

GOD WELCOMES US Christ is risen. He is risen indeed! He has trampled down death by his death. Alleluia! He has given eternal life to us. Alleluia!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen

We sing an Easter hymn/song

Risen Lord Jesus, hear our prayer and save us. Lord, have mercy. Risen Lord Jesus, hear our prayer and help us. Christ, have mercy. Risen Lord Jesus, hear our prayer and give us peace. Lord, have mercy.

Psalm 98 Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. May the light of Christ, rising in glory, dispel our darkness.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn – shout for joy before the Lord, the King. May the light of Christ, rising in glory, dispel our darkness.

Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples with equity. May the light of Christ, rising in glory, dispel our darkness.

The Lord be with you And also with you. Let us pray.

Lord Jesus Christ, who very early in the morning, while the sun was still rising, rose from the dead: Raise us up daily to newness of life, and save us, for you are our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

We listen to the address

We confess our faith I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.

He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. * ‘catholic’ here meaning 'universal'

GOD RECEIVES OUR OFFERING We sing a hymn/song as our offering is received

We pray an offering prayer Let us pray. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with your free Spirit.

We pray for ourselves and the world Prayer response: Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

Alleluia! Christ is risen. He is risen indeed! Come, let us worship him. Alleluia! Let us praise the Lord Thanks be to God
