15 Broilers & Turkeys Broilers are NC’s second rank commodity Broilers bring in over 1.3 billion dollars in cash receipts to NC agriculture – Income from turkeys is about $775,000 dollars – Income from broilers is about $2.6 billion per year. Recent health concerns has increased the consumption of poultry products – less fat – subcutaneous fat layer

18 Cattle Income from cattle is about $275, 000 per year NC has several farms, but states in Corn Belt have more land/resources NC State University conducts several research studies using cattle
