6 1.What is the Internet? The Internet is the biggest source of information in the world. 2.What is DARPA? It is a US defence organisation. 3.Who could use the DARPANET? Only the US army could use it. 4.Where does “Internet” come from? Internet comes from NSFNET. 5.What is the World Wide Web? It is a computer network that allows computer users to access information from millions of websites via the Internet.

7 6.What language is mostly used on the Internet? English is mostly used on the Internet. 7.Who invented the World Wide Web? Tim Berners-Lee invented it. 8.How did Berners bulid his first computer? He built his first computer using an old TV. 9.What does Berners do now? He now works as a lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
