1 NYLON NYLON

2 NYLON:A MAN MADE FIBRE Nylon fabric is a polyamide made from petroleum. It is lightweight, durable and strong and also dries very quickly. Nylon fabric is widely used in industrial applications, home furnishings and also in geo textiles. It was first commercially produced in Nylon is valued for its light weight, incredible tensile strength, durability, and resistance to damage. It also takes dye easily, making the fabric available in a wide array of colors for consumers. Nylon is made through a chemical process called ring opening polymerization, in which a molecule with a cyclic shape is opened and flattened. Today, nylon is among the many polymer products in common daily use throughout the world BY :CHARVI

3 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION Nylon is the first synthetic fibre fully made by not using any natural raw material by man. It was made in the year the chemical compounds – monomers used in making of nylon are now obtained from petroleum products called petro chemicals. nylon is made up of repeating units of chemical called an ‘amide’ . Chemical elements included are carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen. BY :ANANTA

4 USES OF NYLON - BHOUMIK PANDEY
IT IS HIGHLY ELASTIC, TENSILE AND HAS SILK-LIKE APPEARANCE. SO IT IS USED IN CARPETS AND SOCKS. 2.NYLON IS USED IN MANY MILITARY APPLICATIONS LIKE ROPES, PARACHUTES, ETC. 3. IT IS HIGHLY DURABLE AND ITS FIBRES ARE USED FOR MAKING SEAT BELTS, TYRE CORDS, CLOTHES, ETC. - BHOUMIK PANDEY

5 5. IT IS USED FOR MAKING ROPES FOR ROCK CLIMBING AND FISHING NETS.
4. IT IS USED FOR MAKING COMMON HOUSEHOLD ARTICLES, SUCH AS TOOTHBRUSHES, COMBS, HOOKS, ETC. 5. IT IS USED FOR MAKING ROPES FOR ROCK CLIMBING AND FISHING NETS. - BHOUMIK PANDEY

6 NYLON PRODUCTION HIMANSHU RAWAT
To create nylon, two sets of molecule of chemicals are combined. One set is of acidic group and other of amine group . After the combination the nylon salt is formed which is heated to separate water and to form nylon. The nylon then passes through a machine called spinneret which changes the molten nylon into thin strings of nylon. Since the nylon is molten so to make it hard it is exposed to air and is also stretched  to create strength and elasticity. After that it is wounded into bobbins and is unwounded and wounded again on smaller spool and is then ready to use . The products are then made by weaving.

7 It has Excellent abrasion It can withstand excessive
Advantages of Nylon Nylon has High Elongation.  It has Excellent abrasion resistance  It can withstand excessive temperature

8 Disadvantages of nylon
Nylon catches fire easily. It does not absorbs water well. It is not eco friendly Ayush nawal
