15 Concussion: A disruption to the normal functioning of the brain Diagnosis You don’t have to black out to have a concussion Concussions won’t show up on a brain scan such as MRI or CT scan You only need one symptom to be diagnosed with a concussion Recovery Can take weeks or even months If you sustain a second concussion before your first concussion has had time to heal you could get Second Impact Syndrome Max’s Law Effective in all Oregon public schools Required removal from play if concussion is suspected, must stay out for at least 24 hours, and can only return with medical professional’s clearance
