12 Introduction: First sentence-Introduce your topic with a hook.
It can be a fun fact, question or statistic. Examples: Did you know that Indonesia is an archipelago? Russia is the world’s largest country in size. Japan is very densely populated. Did you know Hong Kong used to be owned by England.

13 Introduction Second Sentence-Claim your position (why should or shouldn’t people visit your country) Examples: I would encourage you to visit Taiwan. I recommend you do not visit Pakistan. Afghanistan is not a good place to travel. Japan would be a great vacation spot.

14 Introduction Third Sentence- State the three reasons to support your claim. The three reasons are based on our research paper topics: geography, people, and society. Example: It (your country) has beautiful geography, interesting people, and a strong economy. **Look back to your topic sentences to find this information!!

15 Conclusion First sentence- restate your introduction/thesis including your three reasons: Example: In conclusion, Japan is a good country to visit because of the stunning geography, diverse people, and a strong economy. In conclusion, Iraq is a terrible country to visit because of the desert geography, traditional people, and government- controlled economy.

16 Final thoughts about your country
Examples: I encourage you to visit Japan. Indonesia would be a great vacation spot. North Korea would be a horrible spot to visit.
