Is that PLAAFP statement indicating the student is 2 or more grade levels below enrolled grade level? Can anyone understand my PLAAFP statement? What is my instructional focus? Do I have multiple data sources?

7 Non-Example Bonnie can decode some words from a word list. She may omit words when reading. She struggles with reading independently.

8 Revised PLAAFP Bonnie is still working on developing her reading fluency skills, specifically with an instructional focus in phonological awareness. She is able to decode 15 of 100 presented 4 th grade sight words. When given a 4 th grade level reading probe, Bonnie reads 45 words correct per minute.

17 Scenario Examples Elementary # 1 Scenario Example Samuel 3 rd grade Learning Disability: Reading Comprehension DRA 10 Samuel can recall facts from story when given a 1 st grade level text. He can verbally retell 3 sequential events with 75% accuracy. He struggles with main idea and supporting details. Samuel needs prompting to use context clues to help determine meaning of unknown words. He can draw inferences with 50 % accuracy when given 1 st grade level text.

18 Scenario Example Scenario #2 Secondary Sara, 10 th grader Disability- LD in Reading Comprehension She has the most difficulty with sequencing, summarizing, and identifying conflict and resolution given grade level reading passages. Carla current Lexile was 674.
