BY: JAMES COTTRELL WHY THE FOUNDING FATHERS ARE ROLLING OVER IN THEIR GRAVES

Before I start I just want to say that the following presentation may contain material that some of you may disagree with. I have done my best to make this presentation as considerate as possible while still providing you with all the facts. I respectfully ask that all of you hold all questions and comments until the end of the presentation.

WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, AND WHY The Founding Fathers Basically all the signers of the Declaration of Independence, with some exceptions. The Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and a few other documents of importance The United States of America 1776 To declare separation and freedom from Britain, and to lay a foundation that a great nation is to be built upon

IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS I will admit that in certain areas we have done a better job fulfilling the vision of the Founding Fathers than they could have done in their lifetimes. Getting rid of slavery Becoming the worlds only superpower For a time, delivering a level of economic prosperity that wasn’t even imaginable during the times of the Founding Fathers And Women were given equal rights But, I believe that its worth noting how far off the rails that we have gone.

THINGS THAT GET THEM ROLLING 1.Not just 15% of Americans being on food stamps, but the existence of a food stamp program 2.Members of Congress voting on bills that they haven't read 3.The average gov’t workers making more than the average citizens paying their taxes 4.Expelling children from government schools for playing with toy guns on their own property, among other things of that nature 5.And having restrictions on religion in public buildings such as school, courthouses, hospitals, and other places. Separation of church and state in general 6.And there are dozens of other things that I cannot fit in this slide show.

FOOD STAMPS All in all food stamps seem like a good idea and when they are used properly they are. If you are pour, physically or mentally unable to get a job then food stamps are necessary for you. But when able bodied people between the ages of 25 and 55 are receiving them that is when it becomes a bad idea. If you are able bodied don’t be lazy and become dependent of a food stamp, get a job like the rest of America. The Founding Fathers would not support people who abuse the system and live off other peoples hard work

UNFAIR The average net worth of a senator is $13 million while the average net worth of an American family is $77,300 The average Government worker gets paid $47,000 while the salary for an average American worker is $39,293

2 ND AMENDMENT http://www.rightwingnews.com/education/student- faces-expulsion-for-playing-with-toy-gun-in-his-own-yard/ A boy was suspended from school for playing with an airsoft gun in his front yard while he was waiting for the bus. http://www.rightwingnews.com/education/student- faces-expulsion-for-playing-with-toy-gun-in-his-own-yard/ A 5 th grade Philadelphia girl was suspended because she had a piece of paper in the shape of an L that one of her peers thought was a paper gun. A month after the Newtown tragedy in Connecticut a 9 year old boy brought in cupcakes with green plastic army men on top as was suspended because the principal said it was it was “insensitive to other students after what happened in Sandy Hook.

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE The First Amendment starts out with, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”. This may come as a shock to most of you but nowhere in the constitution does it say anything about separation of church and state! http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution.h tml http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution.h tml Federal buildings were even used as places of worship in the beginning of the United States and the Bible was used as a text book in the founding's of the public school system. http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_t ranscript.html http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_t ranscript.html

CONCLUSION In conclusion The Founding Fathers would be disappointed with America today to say the least. The amount of laziness that exist in todays generation will not help us when we have to clean up the mess that will be handed down to us.
