Proving Triangles are Congruent: SSS and SAS Sec 4.3
GOAL: To prove triangles are congruent by using the SSS and SAS Congruence Postulates

SSS Congruence Postulate
If three sides of one triangle are congruent to three sides of a second triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. B Q P A C R

SAS Congruence Postulate
If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are congruent to two sides and the included angle of a second triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. Included angle – an angle between two sides of a triangle. B Q P A C R

Examples Decide whether enough information is given to prove that the triangles are congruent. If yes, state the congruence postulate you would use and the congruence statement. Q P Q R S L R N T S M P O
