3 Three scales used to measure Temperature:

4 Fahrenheit Scale The Fahrenheit Scale was the first invented but is no longer used in science because it goes against the metric system

5 Celsius Scale On the Celsius scale: Freezing point of pure water is 0 o C Boiling point of pure water is 100 o C

6 Kelvin Scale This is the SI scale used to measure temperature “O” is not used with Kelvins This scale’s lowest temperature is ZERO.

7 Converting from Celsius to Kelvin… K = o C + 273

8 Absolute Zero Absolute zero is the lowest possible temperature. It is the temperature at which all motion of particles stop. Absolute Temp Video
