2 Identifying shapes in our environment. Knowledge, skills and understanding Exploring and developing ideas 1c) collect visual and other information to help them develop their ideas, including using a sketch book Knowledge and understanding 4a) visual and tactile elements, including colour, pattern and texture, line and tone, shape, form and space, and how these elements can be combined and organised for different purposes.

3 Interpreting the objects we can see by using art. Cross-curricular links with other subjects Knowledge, skills and understanding Investigating and making art, craft and design 2c) use a variety of methods and approaches to communicate observations, ideas and feelings, and to design and make images and artefacts. Evaluating and developing work 3a) compare ideas, methods and approaches in their own and others’ work and say what they feel about them. Artistic styles such as : Cubism (Picasso and Braque) Art Deco (Clarice Cliff) 3b) adapt their work according to their views and describe how they might develop it further. Mathematics Understanding properties of shape 2b) visualise and describe 2-D and 3-D shapes and the way they behave, making more precise use of geometrical language… 2c) make and draw with increasing accuracy 2-D and 3-D shapes and patterns… 2d) visualise 3-D shapes from 2-D drawings ICT Developing ideas and making things happen 2a) how to develop and refine ideas bringing together, organising and reorganising text, tables, images and sound as appropriate.

4 Observing architecture and style, reproducing images using ICT Cross-curricular Links with Science and Design & Technology Children can build and test structures, experimenting with suitable materials and building styles.
