(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 1 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Intuitive Circuit controller PR0650 CCT

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 2 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Setting up the controller Set-up access to the controller can be achieved several ways. – Through the front mounted buttons on the remote display – Direct access by PC via a USB connection – Direct access by a PC via an Ethernet Connection – Through the RDM Data Manager It is recommended that the set up be done using a laptop PC – and a USB to AB cable. (These cables can be purchased online or at best-buy.)

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 3 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Downloading drivers. Before setting up the controller you will need to make sure you have the most up to date drivers. These can be found on our website Resourcedm.com under the ‘Support’ tab, in the download software section.

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 4 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Installing drivers. After you have downloaded the drivers connect the controller to your PC by using a USB to AB cable. Once the controller is connected use the PDF file that was automatically downloaded with the driver software to finish the setup.

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 5 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Setting up comms for the CCT board. The Circuit Control (CCT) board will communicate directly with the Data Manager using CAT5 cable through a network switch. On the top left of the CCT board there is a spot for a patch cord. Connect CAT5 cable from the board to a port on the network switch. The network switch should already be connected to the DM

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 6 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Connecting expansion board to CCT. Expansion boards can be added to CCT by using CANbus wiring. *(CANbus cable should be of a standard to meet ISO11898 or equivalent.) If you have one or more expansion boards, you will need to wire them using CANbus before moving on. Making sure that you have the correct CANbus wire and that it is installed properly is crucial to making the system work. - CANbus will use the top left relay on the CCT board. - The white wire will go into the first slot and the blue wire will go into the third. (the second and fourth are unused. -After CANbus is in the master board, you will insert the wires in the same order, and into the same relay of the slave board, as they are in the master. -If you are wiring more than one expansion board to a circuit controller, you will daisy chain them together, by linking each controller down the line with ONLY the controller that comes before it. -When wiring for daisy chain you will still only use the first and third slots on the CANbus relay; Meaning there will be 2 wires in the first slot and 2 wires in the second slot.

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 7 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Setting Network ID’s on controllers -You will need to set a unique identifier on the circuit controller by using the black rotary dials on the front. (The unique identifier will be different from store to store, so check IO drawings to locate the board ID. -We will use ‘102’ as an example of a board ID. -To set the circuit controllers ID for 102 turn the top most dial to 1, turn the middle dial to 0, and the bottom dial to 2. 1 2 0 -After setting the ID on the CCT board you will now set the ID on the expansion boards. -Using the yellow dial on the top left of the controller you will start by setting the first controller to position 0. -For every board after 0, you will increment by 1. -(Example: if you have two expansion boards they will be labeled ‘0, 1’.) 0 1

(612) 354-3923 Slide No: 8 RDM CONFIDENTIAL Termination resistors The Intuitive range of controllers have ‘end of the line’ termination resistors. These are 120 Ohm resistors fitted to the Mercury Plant Controller and to the last Expansion Board on a CANbus network. -On the main control board the resistor will be fitted to the middle and bottom pins. -On the last expansion board the resistor will be fitted to the middle and bottom pins. -All other expansion boards should have the resistor fitted to the middle and top pins.
