 The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. [1] The system provides critical capabilities to military, civil and commercial users around the world. It is maintained by the United States government and is freely accessible to anyone with a G p s Receiver.

 The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a network of about 30 satellites orbiting the Earth at an altitude of 20,000 km. The system was originally developed by the US government for military navigation but now anyone with a GPS device, be it a Satellite Navigation mobile phone or handheld GPS unit, can receive the radio signals that the satellites broadcast.  Wherever you are on the planet, at least four GPS satellites are ‘visible’ at any time. Each one transmits information about its position and the current time at regular intervals. These signals, travelling at the speed of light, are intercepted by your GPS receiver, which calculates how far away each satellite is based on how long it took for the messages to arrive.

 There are many types of g p s but the most common ones are the ones that are in your car or the one that is in the shape ass a cell phone that you can take were ever you want.

 When Vacationing  For work  During recreational activities  In emergencies  ANYTIME you want to find your way  Also a g p s comes in handy when you are lost.

 Consider what you've just read only a "tease." The amount of information available about types of GPS systems out there is mind-boggling. Decide on your particular needs and then investigate and compare the various options and prices. No matter what kind of system you need and decide on, you'll certainly come to appreciate its convenience and ability to keep you in safe situations. Do these types of GPS systems interest you?

 From sun dials and compasses to maps and atlases, navigation and positioning have always been important pieces of information for a variety of activities. Until GPS was developed the processes of determining navigation and positioning were difficult tasks.  GPS is a satellite based navigational system that involves a network of satellites that have been strategically placed in the earth’s orbit. These twenty four satellites were placed in orbit by the United States Department of Defense in the 1970’s. This network was initially intended to provide a precise form of world wide positioning for the U.S military

 Bradford Parkinson, Roger L. Easton, and Ivan A. Getting are credited with inventing the g p s system.

 The car g p s system came out the year of 2005 October 31.
