Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 5 Updates and Progress June Window Iteration 1 Status –All Audit Report / Pre-Populated RARF’s sent on 6/5 –Resource Entity Revisions Iteration 1 of June Window began 6/15 –Individual Resource Entity conference calls started on 6/17 –Iteration 1 Revisions due on 7/13/09 Revision Metrics Revisions Received Week Ending 6/19: 3 RARF’s Accepted to Date: 0 Current Production Quality Metric (will publish next week) Production Quality Metric represents the % of data received that is passing the business rules Initial metric uses pre-populated RARF data Data set measured only includes those Generation Sites participating in the current window

Lead from the front Texas Nodal Reminders Resource Entities with Load Resources will be contacted over the next several weeks regarding the following issues: –Load Resources mapped to TSP Load Required in EMS to associate with TSP telemetry May require Resource Entity to work with TSP to verify Those who would like to do this in advance can submit mapping to nodalmarkettransition@ercot.com nodalmarkettransition@ercot.com –ERCOT will populate this in Load Resource RARF –Once populated, this is sent to the RE to verify and officially submit –NPRR162 Change the Sign Convention of Net Real Power Consumption, LPC and MPC of Load Resources Those who have not adjusted their data will be asked to modify their RARF during this window

Lead from the front Texas Nodal Reminders Other Registration Activities Occurring During the June Window –Nodal Registration of Block Load Transfer –Nodal Registration of Non-Modeled Generation Generation under 10MW Appendix contains slides of particular importance from previous calls

Lead from the front Texas Nodal FAQ / Common Issues Known issues with Audit Reports: –Auxiliary Power % Small vs. Large Motor not calculating properly in some cases % MW and % MVAR must equal 100% In some cases rounding is displaying a false negative (error) on the audit reports –Base MVA errors are producing non-meaningful impedance warnings Data reviewed on the pre-populated RARF uncovered some RE’s have submitted KVA rather than MVA For example, when this occurs, the warning message on Direct Axis Subtransient reactance, X"di will display an incorrect range as it uses the Base MVA to calculate the desired boundary conditions –Resource Category needs to be re-selected from menu (previously misspelled) If you receive an error on Unit Info – GEN/CC/Wind Resource Category, simply re-select the appropriate category from the drop-down list –Some CC Units still have power augmentation represented as a separate configuration This is a warning due to dually connected trains (e.g. SPP / ERCOT) Current Combined Cycle White Paper states that power augmentation capacity shall be represented in an existing configuration White Paper URL: http://nodal.ercot.com/docs/pd/ida/wp/ccum/ida003_combined_cycle_unit_modeling_in_the _nodal_design_v3.doc http://nodal.ercot.com/docs/pd/ida/wp/ccum/ida003_combined_cycle_unit_modeling_in_the _nodal_design_v3.doc

Lead from the front Texas Nodal FAQ / Common Issues TSP Data in RARF’s –Reminder that in many cases TSP assets will have been loaded into the pre-populated RARF’s –This is due to the difficulty of delineating ownership from the zonal system –In these cases, please remove this data from your RARF and adjust columns to the left to eliminate blank columns Breaker “Normal Operating Status” –Breakers between a generator and the resource node must be registered as normally closed –If it is not RUC will not be able to commit the resource –If a resource is unavailable to RUC, the QSE’s telemetry will overwrite the registered value and QSE’s COP will be set to OUT (offline / unavailable)
