Titus 3:3-5a “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us...”

Story begins with a tragic day. Mephibosheth was without hope.
Begins with the tragedy of sin entering the world resulting in separation from God. We were without hope.
Romans 5:12 – Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.
David proactively reached out to Mephibosheth to show kindness.
God proactively reaches out to us to show His kindness.
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Mephibosheth did nothing to deserve David’s kindness.
We have done nothing to merit God’s kindness.
