21 Metadata Editor Tool The Metadata Editor Investigator enters metadata in prompted fields or chooses from picklists. The Editor formats the metadata. Metadata Produces the metadata file.

22 To Create a Metadata File This is where you fill in metadata information As you fill information, and click outside the white box, the metadata you fill in shows up here If a field has a picklist, click here for standard choices

24 To Create a Metadata File Click on ‘Temporal Resolution’ and up pops the glossary, open to ‘Temporal Resolution’

25 To Save a Metadata File Go to FILE, SAVE AS, and name your file.

26 When ready to share your data set, click the “yes” button. The next night Mercury will automatically harvest the metadata and add it to the index.

27 You can go to the Glossary anytime by clicking up here and choosing it. You can go to a FAQ and Tutorial area as well. Here is the FAQ screen. This, plus the Glossary, built-in Tutorial, and this presentation should aid in use of Editor.
