4 4 Legislation and Mandate of CSO  CSO: principal data collecting, processing, analysis and disseminating agency.  Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supervising National statistics System.  Statutory mandate to produce and provide stakeholders with statistical information.

11 11 Mechanism of reporting MDG data to Int’ Agencies  UN Questionnaires  Request passed by other Agencies to CSO  CSO not aware of who should receive data and at what timelines.  Data only submited when required.

12 12 MDG Data Report Problems  Discrepancies on Global reports  Methodologies used not known.

13 13 Conclusion  Coordination with stakeholders at national level is satisfactory.  Collaboration with development partners concentrates on  Advocacy  Statistical capacity building and  Statistical development - is satisfactory  Collaboration with Int’ Organisation for global report data is weak and results in discrepancies in data.

14 14 Recommendations  To include collaboration with NSO’s for global report data as part of collaboration with sub- regions.  Involve countries in the preparation of the global report.  Agree on one questionnaire for the production of data for the global report.  Agree on timelines for submission of data for the global report.  Agree on one office responsible for receiving Global report data (contact Office by sub-region)
