2 Bandy wants to contribute with enthusiasm in the Olympic Culture Festival 2016. This is a part of a ten year plan to develop youth sports in Norway. Through the Olympic spirit for youths: Saturday, February 13;bandy show game youth 17 - Norway vs. Sweden at 1400 “Get active” for athletes and visitors from 1600-1700 Sunday, February 14;“Get active” for athletes and visitors from 1500-1600 Monday, February 15; bandy schools for children and youths from 1000-1200 Wednesday, February 17; children schools - mini tournament from 1000-1330 All events at Gjøvik Stadium

3 Bandy is a very fast team sport on ice - with the skills of speed, technics, precision and tactics Fair play and sportsmanship are important values Bandy has the vision to be “Best on Youths”, both for girls and boys We want youths to combine sport, summer and winter, with education and a healthy social life

4 Show game: Norway – Sweden Youth 17 boys Each bandy team consist of 16 players (boys born 1999) and 4 team leaders. Total 40 persons. Other officials: 25 persons (FIB, referees and organizing committee) Hospitality and transportation: Costs and logistics by FIB/NBF Venue: Gjøvik Stadium/Gjøvik Community Bandy schools and school tournament: Cost and logistics by FIB/NBF Venue: Gjøvik Stadium/Gjøvik Community Cultural events and city activities: Gjøvik Community * The bandy program will not influence on the accommodation capacity for YOG 2016

5 1880´s: The modern bandy came into existence in England. Bury Fen from Fenwick was the first known bandy team. 1955: The Federation International of Bandy (FIB) was founded. 1957: The first WCS for men was played in Helsinki. Totally 19 countries have participated. 1970´s: WCS for boys at different ages has been played. 1994: The first WCS for women was played in Nijmegen. Totally 9 countries have participated. 2009: The first WCS for girls was played in Lappeenranta. 2013: FIB consist of 30 member nations from four continents; Asia, Europe, America, Africa (Australia is coming up through rink bandy). World Championships (WSC) for men and woman has taken place in three continents. Spartakiade: Bandy was part of the first Spartakiade, which took place in Oslo 1928. Soviet beat Sweden 3-1 in final game. Olympics: Bandy was granted as demonstration sport in the Winter Games in Oslo in 1952. IOC recognition 1: FIB was granted provisional recognition pursuant to Rule 29 of Olympic Charter in Moscow July 2001. IOC recognition 2: FIB was awarded certificate as a Recognized Federation at the 116th session of the IOC in Athens August 2004. Asian Winter Games: Bandy was part of the competitions in Almaty 2011.
