Scripture Reading 2 Cor. 2:11

Introduction  We continue to look at some of the Satan’s devices.  Our aim is to be able to know what tactics our enemy uses so that he cannot get an advantage of us.  The more we know about our enemy the less opportunity we give him to get an advantage of us.

Satan’s device-Deception  Satan desires to deceive.  One of his tools is deception.  He wants us to think that good is bad and bad is good (Is. 5:20-23).  He is known as the deceiver (Re. 12:9).  It seems that today he is having much success in the world.

“Be not deceived”  Galatians 6:7  Many today have been deceived into thinking that they can sow their wild oats and not reap.  Hosea 8:7  It is God’s law of retribution; we reap what we sow.  Satan doesn’t want us to believe that.

We see so many who are deceived  Romans 1:21-32  The description that Paul gives of the time that he wrote Romans resembles so very much the times in which we live.  Our culture has exchanged the truth of God for the lies and deception of Satan.

How can we avoid deception?  To pray for strength and wisdom.  To know and understand God’s law of sowing and reaping.  To know that Satan is a liar and the father of it (Jn. 8:44).  To put to test against the word of God what is being presented as truth, but is actually a lie.

Conclusion  God will allow us to be deceived if we believe the lies of Satan (2 Thess. 2:7- 12).  Let us know the tactics, the methods, the trickery, the devices of Satan.  1 Peter 5:8
