2 Asset Management System
Asset management is a systematic process of maintaining, upgrading and operating physical assets. An asset management system allows you to find any assets held by the organisation, borrow them and return them once you have finished with them. Also if you have appropriate privileges you can add, delete or modify existing assets, and customise and manage the way the assets and locations are described. It’s a good way to gain control over inventory.

3 Different Types A library Asset Management System:
These are typically DAM(digital asset management) solutions that focus on storage and retrieval of large amounts of assets that are “historical” in nature and don’t change frequently, for example footage of old news or events. This is much like the system that is used in the LIT library. This is a beneficial system as it meets the consumers demands with a focus on system sustainability.

4 Different Types Production Asset Management Systems:
Also DAM solutions, which focus on the storage, organisation, workflow and revision control of frequently changing digital assets. Examples of this would be assets used for marketing collateral, online web pages and product catalogues. This is an important system as it improves security and safety of assets.

5 Different Types Digital Supply Chain asset Management Systems:
These are typically DAM solutions where the assets being managed are distributed to retailers either as an assistive or costly service.

6 Different Types Brand Asset management system:
These are also DAM solutions which have a focus of encouraging the re-use of content within large organizations. An advantage of this type of system would be , that it meets service expectations and regulatory requirements.

7 References - this website provided a lot of information on the management system that they use, and also described in detail the barcode process. Much like the one in LIT where the computers have a barcode or id tag which will tell you when it was bought, the price, who bought it etc. The ER diagram on the next page shows a typical asset management system.
