12 Pages vs. Posts Pages are static. Common examples are an About Me or Contact page. Posts are listed in reverse chronological order. Posts can be found through Archives, Categories and Recent Posts.

13 Reading, Writing and Discussion Settings Settings will depend on site use Examples: Blogs typically want comments turned on for posts Comments are usually turned off on pages You can create a default of no comments and still allow comments on an individual post.

16 Add a New Page

17 Enter Content Give your page a title. Add text. Editing options are fairly standard, i.e. highlight the text and click B to Bold the text. “Save Draft” button on the right is your friend. When pasting text from another source choose the Text box to strip the formatting.

18 Adding Links Once you have copied the url you want to link to, highlight the text you want to link from, click on the closed link.

19 Adding Images To add images to your post, choose “Add Media” below the title of your post.

24 Media Library shows all your uploaded images.

25 The Edit box is slightly different in this view. The location specific options such as alignment and spacing are absent as they will vary depending on where the photo is used.

26 Publish Options Save Draft and Preview are your friends You can publish immediately or schedule for a later date

27 Menus Your new page has been added to the main menu.

28 Page Hierarchy By assigning a Parent Page, a Page can fall within another page as on Shuva’s site.

30 Edit the number in the “Order” field, and click the “Update” button

31 Add a New Post Very similar to adding a new page.

33 Adding categories and tags A default category is assigned if you do not. Tags are completely optional.

34 Publish the Post Now or later.

35 Editing Posts Posts, like Pages, can be edited both before and after they are published. Choose All Posts under Posts on the left-hand side and the options will appear.

36 Quick Edit Text cannot be changed from here. Some Quick Edit options like “Make this post sticky” do not appear in the Edit view.

38 Install Themes To begin searching theme options, click “Add New”
