3 Magnuson-Moss Consumer Product Warranty Act  1975  Governs written warranties for all products more than $15  Sets minimum standards, rules, and provisions for lawsuits against manufacturers  Enforced by the FTC

4 Consumer Product Safety Act  1972  Established the Consumer Product Safety Commission  Monitors safety of more than 15,000 nonfood items like toys and household products  When product is defective CPSC can: –Issue a safety alert –Require a warning label –Recall the product –Prohibit the sale
