5 WHAT IS AN INVESTIGATION? n A systematic examination designed to establish the facts relative to an allegation of wrongdoing. The investigator: –Interviews witnesses –Reviews files and documentation –Performs other actions as necessary: subpoenas, surveillance, search warrants, arrests, and recorded evidence.
