3D Imaging By Neil Campbell

Stereoscopy Imaging  Is a technique capable of creating the illusion of depth in an image.  The illusion of depth in a photograph, movie, or other two-dimensional image is created by presenting a slightly different image to each eye (either slightly to the right or left) look at the man in the background of the image on the left and you will see he is not in the image on the right.

Anaglyph Images  Do basically the same thing but in the two different colours red for the left eye and cyan (which is the combanination of blue and green) for the right, but you have to view the image/movie through colour coded anaglyph glasses (aka 3D glasses).  The visual cortex of the brain fuses/molds this into perception of a three dimensional scene or image. Cyan MagentaYellow

The Colours  Blue, green and red are the primary colours  Blue and green when shone one over the other make cyan  Blue and red make magenta  Green and red make yellow  While if you put blue, green and red all being shone over together you get that pure white light that comes from the sun.

Projection  Was done by two cameras facing the same white sheet and projecting the image simultaneously so getting that jagged affect when you aren’t wearing the 3D glasses. But with modern technology we can produce and film the image with just one very large and complicated camera.

Facts  Video games, theatrical films, and DVDs can be shown in the anaglyph 3D process. Even NASA is using this 3D process to generate more accurate images so they can be analyzed with proper expertise and presision. So that things like sun flairs and the curviture of planets can be examined closly and presisly. But without excelent and advanced machinery the images could just be even harder to interpret.
