2  Tests are simple was to track your level of understanding. Schools use tests to track your knowledge and proficiency.  Think about your life and the people you know.  Can you name one occupation that must take a test before they can be hired?

3  Teachers and Principals  Lawyers  Doctors  Police officers  Military officers  Fire Fighters  Pilots  Bus driver’s

4  If you want a driver’s license you must take a test  If you want to graduate from high school you must take a few tests  If you want to get into college you will have to take at least 1-2 tests  So…what can you do differently?

5  Be well prepared for the material being presented. Study often and take the process seriously. Read, listen and take good notes in class. Remember to review your notes for at least 30- 45 minutes each day. Good grades do not happen by accident!

6  Read the question before you select your answer.  Sometimes you just need to understand what to look for first. This is called reading for information.

7  Process of elimination  Use your eliminate tool to cross out information that does not fit or make sense. This process could increase your chance of getting a better score.

8  Read all the answer choices before making your selecting.  Remember you want to select the BEST answer for each question. Take the time to review your choices…then select!

9 1. Maintain a positive attitude. 2. Manage your time wisely…before and during the test! 3. Take your time! 4. Eat a full breakfast. 5. Relax!
