4. ELECTROPNEUMATIC VALVE Definition:  A device which is primarily used as an electromagnet used to drive a plunger for the purpose of control actuation. Operating principle:  Passing an electric current through a coil of copper wire generates an electromagnetic field  Adding turns to the coil strengthens the EMF while the lines of force are concentrated through the circular form of the coil and the EMF is greatly increased
