STAGE 3 SIZING AND COMPOSING YOUR IMAGE As you cannot change the size of your image after it is burnt onto your screen it is essential that sizing is taken very seriously before your screen is created. For a registered Composition this is particularly important – exact measurements must be made and adhered to. For overlapping printing measuring is still important – it is good to know the size of canvas you are printing onto to, to ensure that your images and any text used are in proportion and compliment each other.

3. STAGE 3 - COMPOSITION A SINGLE IMAGE WOULD BE NEEDED TO CREATE THE REGISTERED SCREEN PRINT ON THE RIGHT – CORRECT SIZING IS ESSENTIAL FOR AN ACCURATE PRINT. Carefully measure your squares or rectangles onto your board or canvas, and then ensure your image is exactly the same size

See slide 40 Indicate your most successful composition which should also be the idea that you are taking forward to stage 4.

6. Stage 3 Composition analysis and evaluation Comment on the success of the following: Selection of your mages and how well they work with each other. Sizing and positioning of your images throughout your composition. Does your composition flow? Is your composition top heavy? Overall quality of your composition. Is there anything you would change? If yes show the before and after – A02 & A03

7. STAGE 3 ASSESSMENT CRITERIA 2 x repeat image compositions. 2 x multiple image compositions. Thoughtful selection of the manipulated images. Successful sizing, and positioning of the selected images. Thoughtful analysis and evaluation of the compositions. A clear indication of the selected composition to take forward to stage 4.
