1 P.I.D Control for a Wearable E-Braille Using a Force Sensing Resistor Alejandro Martinez Arrieta Advisor: Dr. Mohammad Saadeh ET 493 Instructor : Dr. Cris Koutsougeras

2 Objectives  Design a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control system for a Braille-reading device with an electronic tactile display.  Add a DC motor, which will regulate the contact between the fingertip and the electronic tactile display.  Use a force sensing resistor (FSR) to provide feedback sensory of the tactile force and the finger pad.  Test different FSRs using the load cell and calibrate them to measure accurate forces such that only an FSR is used later to measure forces. Compare their mechanical properties such as, hysteresis, creep, linearity, and repeatability.
