1. RECYCLED GLASS AGGREGATE & SAND APPLICATIONS

2. In May 2011, the Solid Waste Authority installed an Andela Glass Crusher/Pulverizer at a cost of approx. $169,000. Prior to the purchase of the crusher, glass was hauled to a glass recycler at a cost of $16.00 per ton.

3. THE The SWA produces two sizes of crushed glass: 3/8” minus Aggregate and a 1/8” minus Sand. In FY12 the SWA processed 1,079 tons of aggregate, of which, 350 tons was sold. Produced almost 800 tons of sand and sold about 90 tons.
