2 Enabling Grids for E-sciencE EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 Participation SSC participation: list NGIs that you expect will support the SSC –NGIs have been asked to provide one or two representatives  France: Johan Montagnat  Greece: Aristotelis Chatziioannou  Italy: Luciano Milanesi and Giorgio Maggi  Spain: Ignacio Blanquer  UK: David Fergusson  No answer after being contacted: Germany (UNICORE vs gLite) –No discussion on the kind of support requested List of collaborating projects –EGEE related projects: Health-e-Child, NEUGrid,… –Other projects: EMBRACE –More difficult with : @neurist, ACGT

4 Enabling Grids for E-sciencE EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 SSC governance and technical organization Governance –Will there be a governing body for the SSC?  Yes. The goal is to involve representatives from: Research community (Public labs, HealthGrid association) Private companies NGIs ESFRIs –If yes, will it be open just to “supporting” NGIs or all?  Target: involve the “interested” NGIs, not only the “supporting” NGIs Technical organization –Not discussed yet –Potentially specific needs  Need for contact points with EGI supported middleware developers (gLite, UNICORE, ARC)  Need for technical contact points with ESFRI Financial support from EGI is very welcome

5 Enabling Grids for E-sciencE EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 Current effort estimate based on Diana Cresti evaluation Diana estimates: 11FTEs –One User Forum Representative and member of the UFSC; if possible, this individual should have assistance by at least a part time representative for each thematic subcluster, for a total of 1.5 or 2 additional FTEs. These people also do coordination. –One Grid Planning Officer to participate in the EGI MCB meetings. Possibly assisted by the VO managers (not counted here). –2 FTEs for User Technical Support and other support tasks. –A team of 2 FTEs to design, build and operate the Life Sciences Gateway. –One web content manager to work with the Gateway team and other information-related tasks. –1 FTEs for coordination of Documentation and Training specific to the LS community. –A team of 2 FTEs for Consulting with new communities, Application Porting Support, and to maintain and monitor the Application Database for the Life Sciences.
