1. Using the PAGES App

2. The PAGES app will give students the ability to use word processing and images to create beautifully designed documents.

3. I taught this app to my fifth grade students during our study of the Revolution. The assignment was to create a “news flyer” about the events that were happening during this time period. The students were required to include 3 pictures, 2 text boxes, and one short biography box about a Revolutionary figure of their choice.

4. On the first screen of the PAGES app, you will need to click on “create document”

5. Next, you will need to select the template that fits your project. For this project I want you to use the one titled “real estate.”

6. From here, you will click on each of the boxes to change the text and/or pictures to fit your particular project. For my fifth grade social studies project, the students were asked to: choose two events from the American Revolution and write a short description of that event. Add pictures from your event in the picture boxes. Choose one person from the Revolution and create a short biography box to describe that persons contributions. Make sure you include a picture of your person.

7. This is an example of a final project that was created by a fifth grader.
