1 Database Alerts and Persistent / Durable Links  Alerts are notifications regarding additions to the database  Persistent or Durable links are links that remain static (do not change) to the search, journal or article of your choice  These links can be established for  Subject Searches  Journal / Publication  Articles 1

2 EBSCO Databases — Alerts  Search Alerts (automatic notification of latest addition of search matches to databases)  Journal Alerts (automatic notification of latest addition of the journal to the database) 2

3 Create an Account / Sign In 3

4 Search Alerts: Perform a Search 4

5 Click “Create alert for this search” 5

6 Alert Details Appear Click OK even if you don’t have RSS capability 6

7 Your search screen reappears (You are still in your account) Click “Folder Has Items” and Edit your alert from RSS to Email (if you prefer) 7

8 Your created alerts are added to your account —To access / edit, log into EBSCO 8

9 To edit, check the box next to the alert Click “Edit Alert”

10 Chose options and enter email address Edit Saved Search Alert Screen 9

11 Journal Title Alert (Notifies you when that title is added to database) Search for Publication 10

12 Click “Journal Alert” To Edit a Journal Alert, Follow the same Procedure given for Search Alerts 11

13 EBSCO Datbases — Persistent / Durable Links  Persistent or Durable links remain static (they do not change)  These links can be established for:  Subject Searches (link takes user to the search perform)  Journal / Publication (links user to the Journal Title holdings)  Articles (linksk user to the specific article) 12

14 13 Click “Display Link” Search Links (Links to a particular Search Results)

15 14 Copy / Paste URL Into your document

16 Enter Journal name in search box Click Browse 15 Journal Title Link Click on Publications

17 16 Click on Journal Title Copy & Paste Link Into Your Document / Curriculum for others to link to Journal.

18 Article Link (Links to Specific Article): Perform a Search 17 Click Title of Article

19 Scroll down through article information to the link Copy / Paste URL Into Document/ Curriculum On Campus the link takes you to the Article; Off Campus to the login screen and then to the article 18
