Cultural Identity Essays  When you get your essay back, look over the rubric and your essay.  Common reasons for missing points include  Lack of focus or central idea  Vague or overly general explanation of your cultural identity  Poor or inconsistent flow and readability  Major grammatical mistakes (i.e. multiple run-on sentences or fragments)

3. “Everyday Use”  Turn in your answers for the questions over “Everyday Use.”  Fill in the SIFT chart on page 66.

6. “Two Ways to Belong in America”  Read the article “Two Ways to Belong in America” on pages 70-72 and answer the questions on the worksheet.  For multiple choice questions, write a brief justification for your answer.  Takes notes over “Two Ways” to prepare for EA 2.
