He worked as a store clerk back home in Cape Breton before joining the Militia. He was attested on September 22 nd, 1915.

5. Lloyd in Battle He arrived in England on June 28 th, 1916. He was then attached to the 23 rd Battalion. The following day he was transferred to the 24 th Battalion. He was killed in action (KIA) on September 29 th, 1916. There was no information on cause of death.
