2 Prompt Many school boards across the country have banned the selling of high calorie soft drinks and snacks, such as potato chips and candy bars, in cafeterias and vending machines on high school campuses. They argue that the easy availability of junk foods encourages poor eating habits that lead to obesity and other health problems. Opponents of the ban contend that the removal of these foods does nothing to change students’ eating habits and infringes upon their right to choose. In your opinion, should high calorie-low food value soft drinks and snacks be banned from sale on high school campuses?
