She Ran Well to Finish Well MARY

Mary She raised a son… And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:51-52 ESV) A human son

Mary She raised a son… Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. (Isaiah 53:1-2 ESV) An ordinary son

Mary She raised a son… And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?” (Luke 2:48-49 ESV) A serious son

Mary She raised a son… For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15 ESV) A tempted man

Mary She raised a son… who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (Phil. 2:6-7) …who was powerless you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. (Acts 10:37-38 ESV) …until anointed with the Holy Spirit

Mary Prepared herself And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. (Luke 1:30) And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1:38 ESV) And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home. (Luke 1:56 ESV) Like.. David Apostles Ezra Nehemiah And others

Mary Prepared herself Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:11-13 ESV)

And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:51-52 ESV) Do our part in prayer? Do our part in wanting…? Do our part in hospitality? Do our part in committing…? Mary Did her part

And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” (Luke 1:28 ESV) As a young, betrothed, virgin When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:3-5) Had faith before ever seeing a sign Mary Was faithful

(John 19:25 ESV) Didn’t blame God, accuse, or cave to emotions And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” (Luke 2:34-35 ESV) Mary Was faithful

All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. (Acts 1:14) Found with the faithful, meeting and praying The end of Mary’s story was faithfulness, because the beginning of her story was faithfulness. Mary Was faithful

Mary Prepared herself Did her part Stayed faithful Was honored by Jesus but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
