2 Attendees  105 registered participants  Including many first-timers!  77 from Europe (including 26 from France), 10 from North America, 6 from Asia, 12 from companies  43 different affiliations  26 from Europe (including 9 from France), 7 from North America, 4 from Asia, 6 companies

3 Presentations  71 contributions  Scheduled total duration: 26 hours 50 minutes  Rich and very interesting program  Had to cut down all standard slots to 25 minutes, site reports to 15 minutes, in order to fit everything in  Speakers played this very well, excellent time- keeping – thanks to speakers and session chairs  High quality of presentations

4 Tracks and Trends…  Security and networking: 7 total - IPv6, perfSONAR  Storage and file systems: 6 total - CEPH, cloud storage, data/bit preservation  Grids/clouds: 5 total  Computing: 10 total, 7 on batch systems – HTCondor, CPU benchmarking, Atom/ARM  IT facilities and business continuity: 5 total – OpenCompute, business continuity  Basic IT services: 10 total - Puppet, Agile Infrastructure  End-user IT services and operating systems: 6 total – Scientific Linux past and future

5 Breaks  Coffee breaks  Lunches  Dinner, evening discussions  Welcome reception – sunset boat cruise  Social event on the lakeside Countless hours of valuable discussion

6 Scientific Linux (1)  Launched 10 years ago when the conditions had changed  Now they have changed again (agreement between Red Hat and CentOS) – we need to (re-)act  Clear, enlightening presentations  Passionate discussion  My own conclusion: HEP community strongly prefers to take a common approach

7 Scientific Linux (2)  Very constructive discussion on Tuesday with Connie Sieh, Jarek Polok, Tim Bell, HM  CentOS still not stable enough – too early to take firm decisions on SL  HEP should try and participate in CentOS discussions and decisions  Launch Scientific SIG with contributions by (at least) FNAL and CERN  Each team to build respective SL release when RHEL 7/CentOS 7 get released  Both teams to observe and maintain active dialogue  Review of situation, possibly decision at fall HEPiX meeting

8 Board Meeting (1)  Current and next meetings  Working groups  IPv6: plea to attend WLCG pre-GDB in June  Benchmarking: see report. Experiment participation assured; work to select typical experiment applications to start soon; benchmark candidates to be considered when SPEC CPU2014 is released  Batch: issue with HEPiX Wiki write access; conclusions from WLCG pre-GDB to be integrated  Configuration management: see report. Yaim replacement to be considered  Bit preservation: see report  Energy efficiency: despite active effort, no positive echo. Go into passive (observing) mode
