What is i-Ready? Parent Overview of Diagnostic & Instruction

3 Adaptive Diagnostic -computer generated, adaptive, individualized, diagnostic assessment which determines competency on math and reading skills -used to determine areas of student strength and need in key strands and domains -results drive instruction as teachers work towards satisfying each student’s individual needs

4 Reading Domains Phonological Awareness Phonics High-Frequency Words
Vocabulary Comprehension (both literature and informational text)

6 Reports School Reports -A school level view gives administrators a clear indication of overall performance and the extent of intervention needed in the class/grade/school. Class Reports -Class reports provide teachers with a wealth of information to monitor and drive student growth. Teachers can quickly see which students need intervention, the key areas to target for each student, and how to group students for instruction. Student Reports -i-Ready provides teachers and parents with a detailed and easy-to-read analysis of every student’s proficiency levels. Reports detail which skills students have mastered and those skills to prioritize next for instruction, thereby supporting reading and math success for every student.

7 Instruction Teacher Directed -whole class/small group
-allows access to lesson plans -diagnostic ability groups students 2. Student Driven -based on the diagnostic -program catered to meet their needs and promote growth

8 Online Instruction automated and differentiated
within a domain, lessons only adapt up; the diagnostic has already determined their instructional level lessons include: explicit instruction, guided practice, and quizzes (lesson length = level) assignments: red button indicates i-Ready task; blue button indicates teacher assigned task once a student fails a lesson, they get another chance to pass the same concept with a second lesson

9 Fun Facts about i-Ready
Background Study buddy Brain breaks Games/credits Interactive lessons
