 Our attitudes are important and influence our motivation.  Use positive self-talk, › “ I really want to be successful in school.” › “This will help me reach my goal”  Begin to think of what you have done, not what you haven’t done.

 Start a portion of the project that day.  Consider doing it before you leave campus.

 We often say, “I don’t have 5 hours today to do that, I will do it tomorrow.”  Make a list of the potential steps.  Write each of those steps on a day in your planner. Now you only have a little to do each day.

 Decide the type of rewards you like: food, video game, TV show.  Provide the reward immediately after completing the task.

 Social networks and friends can be distractions.  Use social activities as specialized rewards.  Study for a couple hours, then go out with your friends.

 Create a calendar for the week that shows study times for subjects the same time each week.  Display that calendar in a prominent place so you and others can see.  The study becomes part of your standard routine, not “extra” time.
