2 THERE IS GOOD NEWS & BAD NEWS…. Bad News –The federal government does not accept anyone’s certification, but its own Good News –Most of the paperwork that you have filled out for the other certifications is the same as the federal government

3 Types of Business – Other than Large Small Business & Subsets –Disadvantaged –Woman Owned –HUBZone –Veteran –Service Disabled Veteran

4 Self-Certifying Self-certifying means that you can check a box or line stating that you are a small business, woman owned small business, veteran owned small business, service- disabled veteran owned small business Example: “I am_____ am not_____ a small business”

5 Businesses Requiring Certification Small Disadvantaged –8(a) Program HUBZone

6 Who Accepts SDB/HUBZone Certification? All federal agencies Large prime contractors who have a federal contract Various state & local governments
