2 Sunshine Farms Sunshine Farms is located in Central Alabama and produces Sim- Angus bulls for commercial producers in the Southeastern states. The cowherd consists of 400 Sim-Angus, Angus and Simmental cows that calve Sept-Nov. The top 50% of bull calves are developed and sold as yearlings in an annual Bull Sale the first Saturday in December and at private treaty. Additional bulls are developed from a group of six breeders that operate as the Sunshine Group. Ten small cooperator herds also produce bulls for the program. A total of 250 bulls have been marketed from the 2004 calf crop. Complete performance and ultrasound data is provided on all bulls. The entire heifer crop is developed as yearlings. The heifers are ultrasounded for carcass traits and then synchronized and bred A. I. Culling begins after pregnancy testing and continues after each calf crop.
