2. Dante and Virgil arrive at the gates of Hell. First group of souls they see are the ones that have to follow the banner. (Ante Inferno) The uncommitted. Charon helps them across the Acheron river. There is an earthquake. Dante faints.

3. Charon- The ferryman that helps Dante and Virgil across the Acheron River.

4. Souls trying to cross the Acheron Dante and Virgil at the gates of hell.

5. Dante is in the Ante Inferno, before the first circle. This is where the uncommitted are held. Those who did not choose between good and evil. Punishment: – They must follow a constantly moving banner – Never stop moving – They are naked and stung by wasps – Insects on their face – They cry

6. Noisy Dirty Lots of commotion Not pleasant The next level is Limbo, which is a melancholy valley, very much unlike the Ante Inferno.
