1. I. Pre-test Write down the part of speech (noun, verb, pronoun, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, interjection): 1. This is a pre-test. 2. A pre-test is a test you take to see what you already know. 3. This pre-test will test you on how well you know your parts of speech. 4. I will use this information to address the class’s exact needs. 5. Then, we will study parts of speech. 6. Finally, you will take another test, called a post-test. 7. A post-test shows what you learned, and if I need to re-teach anything. 8. Hurray! You’re almost done! 9. Make sure you wrote down the part of speech of each underlined word. 10. If you don’t know, make a guess, or just write, “I don’t know.”

Background Info List these facts: 1.During the Middle Ages in England guilt or innocence was determined by an “ordeal” 2.Ordeal = A trial in which an accused person is physically tested to determine guilt or innocence 3.Example: The accused were thrown into water. Float = Guilt. Sink = Innocence
