There is increasing awareness of the influences of world culture and the resulting diversity. The impact of global economic change on national economies is increasing. Baby Boomer generation continues to dominate.

3 General Trends in the Travel and Tourism Industry (cont.) Increased interest in sporting events results in travel. Package tours continue to be popular. There is a shift from mass marketing to niche marketing. There is continued concern for environmental and cultural aspects of tourism.
